I saw the “Clean X Change” at a local big box retailer. What caught my eye was the claim that it shaves “with less irritation.” Nanosilver head might be just the thing. I figured if its real bad, I can send it back to Remington with the money back guarantee. Price not too bad…
You are supposed to charge this shaver for 24 hours before first use. When you turn it on, its louder than a good Norelco, but not too loud. Its really basic, one button on & off, a couple of lights on the side. Not real big or clumsy and easy to grip. Solidly put together.
I found that it does give a really GOOD shave. Why? If you have a problem with neck hairs that grow in all directions, that lay flat and are thin and soft, this shaver can get them. I found that your typical electric shaver will give a decent shave on certain parts of my face, but never all. Sometimes, I will use two brands of shavers to get it right. But I was surprised to find that the Remington Clean X Change can produce a fast, close and comfortable shave all by itself…!! Amazing..!!
And yes, VERY LITTLE irritation..!! And I use it without a preshave lotion or powder. The trimmer folds out at a ninety degree angle and is easy to use.
I don’t know what the suits were thinking at Remington, but I hope they don’t change it. (You know they will…)
Buy at Wal-Mart or Target for about $44 USD.

I’ve found this to be the best electric shaver I’ve owned since my great uncle gave me my first one over 40 years ago. There is no razor burn on the neck, and the face feels as smooth as the throat. My wife loves it, and after all that is why we bother to shave in the first place isn’t it, to get closer to our women?

This model has been discontinued by Remington, so it’s now available at a very low price. While I think it was way overpriced for what you got at the original price, at the current steeply discounted price it is well worth a look. (Some brick and mortar stores are selling it below ten bucks)
It gives a traditional Remington close shave. Remington foils are not nearly as gentle as a Braun or a Panasonic, but you’re rewarded with a very close shave. If you’ve never used a Remington foil before, be prepared for a few days where your face may feel a bit sensitive.
The head (which contains the foil and cutters) is designed to be disposable. Keep in mind that the indicator light that comes on is based on a simple counter – you can certainly keep using the razor after the indicator light comes on. To save money, you can just keep shaving with the same head until you feel that you’re not getting as close or as comfortable a shave as you did at first. I’ve found you can easily get 60 shaves per head without any problem.
The shaver itself is somewhat cheaply built – lots of plastic and no where near as solid as a higher end shaver. But, you’re not paying the higher end price either! The biggest drawback is that it is loud. Really loud. We’re talking leaf blower loud (OK, bit of an exaggeration, but this is not the shaver to use if someone else is sleeping close by).
I use it as my spare shaver, and my take-to-the-gym shaver. Just toss it into a bag and not have to worry about cleaning it ever.
Remington is not known for long-term durability. Don’t stock up too much on replacement heads since you probably won’t get years of service out of this. On the plus side, Remington has great customer service and will send you a new shaver if yours breaks.
At this price it’s worth buying two just for the spare heads (each razor comes with two heads). You won’t be wow’d with the quality of the shaver, but it provides a good, close shave without spending much money.

This razor gives me the best shave that I have ever gotten from an electric shaver, and I have tried many of them both foils and rotary. It is priced right and you don’t have to buy special cleaning products, just replace the head every 30 days. The heads are also inexpensive and you have a new razor every time you change the head. No clean up, the head catches the whiskers and since you change the head every 30 days there is no mess. The only drawback is that the razor is loud, but I still rate it a five since it gives an excellent shave and a very resonable price.
